Saul’s Conversion is a hand-carved marble portrait exploring Saul's transformation. The sculpture was carved by hand, gradually emerging from the stone through the development of its form, expression, and intricate facial details. Particular attention was given to the details that give the portrait a sense of age and character: the folds around the eyes, the furrows of the forehead, the shape of the ears, and the layered texture of the beard. 

The patina visible in the final photographs is not part of the original finish. The sculpture survived a church fire while being stored, and the effects of the fire left a unique surface patina on the marble, adding an unexpected chapter to the history of the piece.
