Gargoyle #1 | Hand-Carved Limestone Sculpture 

Gargoyle #1 is a hand-carved limestone gargoyle sculpture with a powerful, animal-like form. The piece developed from a roughly blocked-out stone into a detailed creature, with particular attention given to the face, paws, fur, and surrounding wings. The progression photos show the gradual process of removing stone and refining the character of the figure.

The finished gargoyle combines a sense of strength and playfulness, with the expressive face and crouched pose giving the sculpture its personality.
